Default Raiment of the Lich costume fix = quality reduced

I logged on today for the update, and found my costume looking like my video settings were reduced and discovered there was a bug fix for it. It seems like to quick fix a reported problem they just removed the sheen and movement layer from the wings... And also is that the wings were cut very badly causing some dye-able space around the wings at-least for my class....

Please fix the costume right arena net...we did pay for these...

Below shows the dye -able areas on the outside of the wings that were not their before the update... black and then white (Red Boxes)

Below is a Before (right) and After (Left) update... you can tell they removed the layer that added movement to the feathers along with the feathers themselves (Blue Boxes) and just stuck a few semi-transparent feathers to try to replace em... Also removed the ambient texture that reacted to angles of light making them look like feathers... instead of just a pressed shell...

If this is the quality of "fixes" I can expect after I buy a costume... I definitely wont be buying anymore in the future...
I didn't even know about the white lines you tried to fix with this update.... I could be wrong but I don't think anyone knew that there was something wrong with this costume.

Please revert to the costume before the fix... The quality I was so happy to have paid for.

Edit: A friend informed me that the male Mesmer best resembles the texture and movement with the exception with some clipping around the edges of the wings... Test it move around in it...the lower feathers will sway and reflect light on Mesmer... compare it to another male class... the wings go stale.. all classes should have the same quality.

What? They look exactly the same to me. o_O And the spots don't look "fixed". You're wearing a white costume in the picture with the white spots on the wings and a black costume in the picture where the spots seem to have disappeared (they're black..like the costume dye). Looks the same to me.

Yeah, that wasn't there before the fix when i already had it dyed white....its just white space in-between feathers that's dye-able... it doesn't do it on other classes so i am assuming its not supposed to be there.

So, do you have an image of the white costume that shows that the new dye-able spots weren't there before the fix to post or send to ANet? Because your screenshots aren't really showing anything. I mean, I personally can't see any sort of decrease in quality and since one of your examples has a costume that's dyed black...it's not really showing, either.

Thought it was just me. Noticed this as well. There is gaping hole on the left leg of the Necro when wearing this costume.

Would be nice to get that fixed.

As you can see they were not there before and over all the wings just looks less full, maybe even shorter, and don't react at all to surrounding light like they used too.... like they just removed a layer instead of fixing it.

Weird, since they did do an update to fix it. Looks like they just made more problems. Hopefully someone will see this thread that can report back to ANet, or maybe you can send it in to them so that they know it's there?

Anyway, good catch. :/ Hope they fix it sometime.

I reported my problem to support @ plaync.... I also included a link to this thread... may want to post pictures of the hole on the leg or other quality issues.

Unless they fixed it within the last few hours, I don't see it on mine.

I just rechecked, it looks like the recent update corrected this (I noticed this a last week) but introduced the other issue referenced in this thread.

I'm not seeing any of these errors on my end. Not denying they're happening, just... on my end I don't see them.

From what I can tell the issues people are reporting are:
* Hole in necro female's leg
* White patches on the at the side on the top part of the wings
* Reduced feathering on the edges of the top of the wings
* Reduced feathering on the bottom feathering on the bottom of the wings

Here's what I see:

No hole, no white patches, feathers are still there.

I wonder if it's graphics settings within the game or graphics card issues that's causing the differences? Which would explain if they were QA'd on super fancy superduper machines that they're not going to be able to see these errors on other machines that us common folk have. I have no idea really, just throwing things out there.

I will point out though that i am so glad they got rid of the GIANT METAL WIRING INSIDE THE WING WITH THIS FIX. I CAN FINALLY WEAR THIS COSTUME AGAIN OMG YAY /capslock. ahem.

In case people forgot what the giant metal wire looked like, you can see it plain as day on the char on the far right here (Linked it because it's hyoooge)

Edit: Could be a male character problem? We need more pics off people! Post post post 'em!

Maybe while they work on fixing those problems, they could also work on making all of the costumes released so far actually fit all of the male models, too?

.....Yeah, probably not. But hopefully, they'll at least fix these problems. :/

I do see the white pixely mess along the edge of any armor/costume since EotN. It's a sad thing this isn't fixed.

Mine looks fine. Better than it did, in fact, and there's no hole in her leg, either.

Maybe it has to do with graphics settings on individual computers? I kind of wonder if the costumes are one of the those things in GW that just won't look pretty if you're not running at maximum specifications.

looks like nothing has changed, also if you compare 2 screenshots make them in the same area, cus now it seems like they're not the same cus you are in a light and in a dark area!

Here's what I noticed, mind that I mean ONLY FEMALE characters:

- white lines on wings disappeared
- chunk of missing texture on necro is corrected
- missing feathers on elementalist's version of the costume are corrected
- costumes dye now in deeper hue
- ...probably due to the missing "glossy" layer
- the frontal tattered cloth is now not transparent
- ...except on monks and ritualists
- back tattered cloth and feathers are more transparent than before
- black writings on handwraps seem to be now "cut out", looks pixelated and kinda ugly
- mesmer's version of the costume still dyes in the same way as it was before the fix. Actually it seems to be pretty much the same except for some weird pixels on wings and the gold ornament on mesmer's back that is half covered by the cloth

Here's mes, ritu and warrior screen to compare:

Also on all post-fixed costumes there are two red spots that are not affected by dyes, mentioning that as it wasn't present on pre-fixed costume ;p
